Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Five movies you should see before you die (in no particular order):

1. The Shawshank Redemption

2. Dead Poet’s Society

3. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

4. Braveheart

5. Planes, Trains & Automobiles

My dream in high school was to do a Ferris Bueller. I didn’t have the guts. I did go off campus once during lunch, which was against the rules. But then, I didn’t really enjoy lunch because I was worried about getting caught trying to sneak back on campus!

Of course, these listed movies are all fictional stories. I guess you might say “Braveheart” was historical fiction. Some movies, especially ones on tv, may say “based on a true story.” Many need to say LOOSELY based on a true story.

The stories in the Bible are not fiction. Nor, are they based on a true story. The stories in the Bible are actual events. They’re true. So, when you read one, remember those were real people, not actors, and those events actually took place. That might cause you to read in an entirely different light.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m headed over to my friend’s house. He’s going to show me his dad’s 1961 Ferrari GT250. What’d you say? Take it out for a spin? Oh, no, his dad would kill us! (I think I see a parade in the distance. What? I hear singing, “Shake it up, baby, twist and shout.” It’s gonna be a good day!)

Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth….  2 Timothy 3

Watch closely. Ferris? Or me?

Hey, it’s Friday video time. This would freak me out, too!  I do love the girl who just says: “Really?!”

Have a supercolossalultragreat FRIDAY!!!

Better Than Bieber

If you’ve never heard Kurt Hugo Schneider, you’re in for a treat. And, it’s Friday…YOU NEED A TREAT!

Have a great weekend!!!

Hello? BOOM, BABY!!!

All right. I’m guessing after watching this, you won’t let anyone borrow your cell phone for a very long time!

In case you’ve forgotten…IT’S FRIDAY!!! Have a great weekend!

Did You See That?!!

Pretty amazing, huh?! Wow! (Didn’t you love the cat at the end?)

But, there’s a life lesson here that we all learn: Things are not always as they appear…looks can be deceiving. Do you remember how and when you learned that lesson? I don’t exactly, but I know I did learn it.

You can be so sure you see things clearly…then, bam!…that’s not the way it is. That’s so frustrating and confusing. It throws you into temporary chaos.

God is like the guy who made this video. He shows you a different perspective. He allows you to see the way things really are. God’s perspective is the proper one, the virtuous one, the right one. There’s no chaos associated with his view.

Connect with God and see your life the way it’s supposed to be seen. A way that’s accurate and real.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29

It’s Friday. You’re tired. The weekend is coming, but not until this work day is over.

So…today…let me just add a smile to your face!
