It’s FREE with coupon! It’s 50% off with coupon!! It’s BOGO with coupon!!! (For the men who are reading this, that’s Buy One Get One free.) With our economy the way it is, couponing has become a way of life. The bottom line is: It saves you money. It’s not always easy, though. Have you ever read that fine print at the bottom of coupons? The words you need a magnifying glass to read that tell what the “rules” and “exclusions” are? Sometimes it’s “limit one per customer.” Or “can’t be used with any sale items.” Or “can only be used on Thursdays from 1:00-3:30 a.m.” (just kidding). But you get the picture.
For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does. Psalm 33
With God’s coupons, there’s no fine print. Well, actually, God’s not into couponing. But, there is no fine print with God. When he says it…that’s it. He’s like my fourth grade teacher Miss Brown. I loved her. No, I mean it. On the last day of school I asked her to marry me! What I loved about her was she was fair, treated everyone the same. You knew where you stood with her. If she said she would do it. she did. I could trust her word. And that’s how it is with God. You can trust his word. There is freedom there. There’s no fine print…and no exclusions.
Do you ever think about God? You don’t have to wonder any longer. His words are in the Bible. You can trust them. You’re not excluded. Read them and see what you think.
Miss Brown was beautiful, by the way, and wise. In answer to my marriage proposal, she said if, when I grew up, I still wanted to marry her…she would consider it.
